Using "Border Backgrounds" With Tables

If you are going to use a background with a "Border illustration" down the left side, be sure to read this Tutorial. Virtual University Instructor Otter gives tips for creating a table so that text does not bump into the border. If there is a desire to have a single border on the left, the WIDTH of your background graphic should be 1280. Height should be as small as you can make it. This tutorial also demonstrates why, based on the monitor resolution of your visitor.

"Left Side" vs "Right Side" Border Backgrounds

Borders can be placed on the left side of your web page or on the right side. This web page Tutorial by Virtual University Instructor Otter demonstrates the difference in a left side border image and a new similar image used for a right side border. The HTML TABLE Code for using both border effects are listed.
